Grounded in her experiences and insights as a management consultant, brand strategist and multidisciplinary artist, Susan has developed a step-by-step brand-building process that results in a clear, compelling and differentiated positioning and a roadmap for innovation and growth.
The sh.BRAND strategy practice specializes in healthcare - a passion sparked as a child and cultivated as an artist - where she works across the ecosystem of manufacturers, payers, researchers, clinicians and consumers.
Susan began her career at The Boston Consulting Group's consumer practice, where she became fascinated by the deep emotional connections brands can build. She has had the privilege to work with some of the world’s leading biotech and pharmaceutical companies on life-changing therapies in breast cancer, multiple sclerosis, HIV, macular degeneration and rare diseases, as well as with a host of digital technology tools and insurance payers who support clinicians in their work.
She holds a BA in art history from Dartmouth and an MBA from Harvard. While not building brands, Susan keeps busy as a visual artist, hatha yogi, and mother to 3 children.
Susan’s art work explores the interplay of chaos and entropy with pattern and order in nature. Her paintings are in several prominent collections, including Saatchi & Saatchi, Pfizer, and the New York Stock Exchange, and she has exhibited at the American Museum of Natural History. the Museum of Modern Art, the Montgomery Center for the Arts, and in numerous group shows. Susan has been a featured artist with Art & Science Collaborations and a juried artist with Soho20 Gallery in Chelsea. Her work is currently represented by Gallery104 and NYA Gallery in New York and LagunaART Gallery in California, as well as on Artsy and 1stdibs online. Susan did her graduate study in fine art at the School of Visual Arts.
